Intellectual Successor to Gears of War

It looks like GoW. it plays like GoW. Hell - if you put the disc in your mouth, it even tastes like GoW!

It's pretty obvious from the first time you play Dark Sector that the inspiration behind this game was Epic's answer to Halo but there is a big difference when it comes to the fundamentals of gameplay;

description
Dark Sector thrusts players into the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative sent on a dangerous mission into Lasria – an Eastern European city on the brink of ruin that hides a deadly Cold War secret. In the midst of this mission, Hayden is attacked by an unknown enemy and infected by the Technocyte Virus - a brutal bio-weapon that twists it's victims into mindless killing machines. Surviving this attack, Hayden finds that the Technocyte virus has granted him powerful, inhuman abilities unlike anything he has ever seen. Now, he must evolve with his powers, survive and become a hero.

Created by acclaimed developer Digital Extremes, Dark Sector is a new and original 3rd-person action-shooter designed exclusively for next-generation gaming. A dark, gritty experience packed with fast action, incredible superpowers and an engaging story; Dark Sector represents the next evolution of action.

Amazing Game
This game is really amazing, I suggest you all get it if you like games that make you think and games that let you cut limbs off the enemies.

Worth a look
If Resident Evil 4 got Gears of War drunk on a date then Dark Sector would be the result. The game plays a lot like RE4 with bits of Gears thrown in, and enough more in addition to make it uniquely its own.
The plot is good if not also a little close to RE in execution, not that that's a bad thing. The gun variety is fairly standard but then in this game, it's the glaive that really shines. If you spend this game running around shooting things then you're only having half the fun you could be. Slicing, dicing, incinerating, electrocuting, even freezing your way through the enemies with the glaive is the highlight of the games combat. There are also a few little puzzles in the mix but nothing too brain straining.
The game is a decent length and while some have noted that it tends to run out of steam for the final few stages the overall product is well put together.
A must play for any RE/Gears fan.

It's pretty obvious from the first time you play Dark Sector that the inspiration behind this game was Epic's answer to Halo but there is a big difference when it comes to the fundamentals of gameplay;

This game makes you think! Not all the time, mind you... much of the game is spent shooting enemies or throwing your Glaive (such an awesome weapon) through people's torsos but then, out of nowhere, the developers throw a puzzle at you just to mess with your comfort zone.

The puzzle aren't especially difficult but still, in a game like this they're definitely an innovative and welcome change of pace.

In short; great game, not for kids, worth the money.

As a point of interest - The Japanese version comes with full English support and none of the violence is censored.
