A decent action game with awesome visuals, not much of an RPG

There is a lot to like about FF7R. It looks awesome and you can tell no expense was spared. If you love the original, be ready to feel conflicted over this game. It is not an RPG and the story ends much earlier and it is told much less efficiently. There is a lot of filler and new elements introduced that fly in the face of the intent of the original. If you can get past this, you will probably have a good time because the action is visceral and satisfying.

The JP ver is in English and on PS5 is the latest build. It has superior cover art and spine too. The DLC chapter with Yuffie is a lot of fun, but too short. It also won't activate without a JP account and the DLC has to match the disc's region, so beware. It is too bad that the DLC chapters were not on the disc.
